Sorry for any disruption but I'm afraid i have a family issue.

Yesterday afternoon my mother was in a serious car crash. She had hit a telegraph pole and rolled on to the roof; she is elderly and of course for the best of us this would be an awful thing for her its a serious concern.

They cut her from the car and took her to Weston General; I spent most of yesterday and last night there.

She was so very lucky, when i saw the car i feared the worst. She has come away with a fractured rib: I honestly cant believe she got away with it and thank god no one else was involved or hurt.

I obviously have my hands full now, I'm in and out of hospital and on the phone to family etc and trying to keep my own family going on top of this my health is a battle now but its amazing where the energy comes from when you have to keep going

I will still be dealing with NABD stuff especially the important issues but will be running at a bit of a lower speed and for that I apologize. I am still doing stuff and to be honest its quite a nice distraction at the moment but I would ask everyone for their patience.

Thanks

That is a terrible thing to happen. It's a lucky thing all she ended up with was a broken rib. Sure everyone will understand putting NABD work on the backburner.

All best wishes to your mum Mark, hope she makes a speedy recovery.

Sounds like an extremely bad accident and she was very lucky, must have had her guarian angel with her.

I hope she's out of hospital before Christmas.

All the best.

Chris.

Thanks to everyone for your very kind wishes, I passed it all on to mum today it brought a smile to her face. She had a bad night and shes struggling with the pain in her chest other than that shes in relatively good spirits.

Its going to be a bit of a haul but thats life.

This link will show why I couldnt beleive she is as well as she was. this was the sceane I was faced with when I arrived; I thought the worst. they over exagerated slightly as press do.

The car is next to the pole she hit; it now appears from the Police that no significant speed was done; but from teh Power company vibration traveled up the pole until it hit a flaud week spot; it then shattered and slid down almost verticly.

The pole came in between the wheel and in the wing on the passenger side and made a ramp once it traveled up the pole it simply turned over with gravity on to its roof. Gob Smacked! A very enlightening chat with the Police, they have been outstanding and even brought a get well card into the hospital this evening.
