I'm Col or 'Leader' to my mates and I'm the Berkshire Rep.

As the Berkshire Rep, I'm hoping not only to help raise money for the NABD, but also to raise it's profile in the area. To do this, I'll be trying to attend as many local Bike shows and meets in the area as possible, with NABD literature and membership forms.

NABD meetings in Berkshire will be held at the Flowing Spring in Caversham, Reading, every second Wednesday of the Month at 8pm, and are hosted by the Thames Vale Vultures. All welcome whether on bike, foot, horseback or what-have-you. Either turn up or ring/mail me for more info.

Stay Safe.

PS. Yes thats me holding the Vulture in Issue 52 of Open House. Oh and we raised £4113.28p for the NABD.

Spent a great day out with members of the Thames Vale Vultures, running a stall and promoting NABD. Lots of interest and lots of application forms and information given out. Lets hope I can build on this small beginning....

Soi how does that work then? NABD members go along to the Vultures regular meeting night?

I ask cos my small group meets at the same pub, same day of week, as the riding club I belong to, but we meet the 2nd Mon and DMEC meets the 1st & 3rd Mondays - wondering if it would be a good idea to combine..

I was thinking that to start with, it would be a good idea to combine the Vultures meet with the NABD one. I'm not aware of another NABD meeting in Berkshire so was thinking that it's a way to give members a place to start, and gives me a chance to walk a bit before I have to run.

If we have enough interest and support, I'm open to other ideas and suggestions. I'm happy to combine meets etc as it can benefit both parties, especially if only 1 or 2 NABD members come along at first.

Guess I'm learning as I go really.

Stay Safe.

Thanks to The Thames Vale Vultures, who once again took their stall out and included a new banner with the NABD name and Logo all over it.
They also spent the day handing out NABD promo material, which I'd prepared.

Lets hope we get a few new members.

Hi there fellow reppie type. I am down at the coast. I guess that Ken May and Sue are pretty close to you and they are realy good people and very experienced. I found thatthe Rep's training weekend was realy usefull. I will try to fet to one of your meetings when I am in the area or call in to say hi sometime. If you need the NABD Sothern stall, contact Ken May, London Rep or Gary Tomkins, also a realy experienced Rep. If you ask them, there is a possibility that they can get the stall to your event. I can saythat it is a real boost to know these guys are onside.
Let me know if you are running an event and I will try to support you.
Somthing I felt that was usefull was to help out on one of their stall days. You pick up all sorts of tips.
I can't remember, did you do the training weekend at Wolverhampton?
Best of luck with it.
Badger.
PS there are some realy nice people at The Windlebrook Inn, Bagshot Surrey, if you get the chance to get out that far. Mention my name to a guy called Spookie, who runs it. They raised £500 for us in July this year. A writeup should be going into Open House soon, I hope.

The Thames Vale Vultures are having a Christmas Party on Friday 23rd December.

Three course meal, Disco and Karaoke is £17.50p.
It's at The Red Lion in Woodcote, (between Reading and Oxford), and all Berkshire (and other local) NABD members are invited.

If you're interested mail me nabd@tvvultures.co.uk but you'll have to be quick as there are only a few tickets left.

Bye for now.

Col

Spent a very nice day at the Reading MAG show on the Thames Vale Vultures stall who proudly displayed a large banner supporting the NABD. Lots of application forms given out and loads of questions about what the NABD do etc.
Hopefully Berkshire will begin to see an increase in members over the next few Months as we visit more Bike Clubs and attend more shows.

I'd put a picture up if I knew how to.

If anyone's going to the MAG Lion rally in Reading on the 9th and 10th of June, come over and say hello. I'll be helping to look after the Thames Vale Vultures/NABD stall and running the Rally's Rideout (£1 donation to NABD for anyone thats joining it).
