Just been looking through this thread on behalf of a friend who has questions about a trike he's building for himself - he's disabled. But I think most of this thread is out of date now as the MSVA has changed and so have the rules for trikes according to weight, so I don't really want to point him in this direction.

He has emailed the NABD but not had a reply after 11 days - I did explain that it's all volunteers but of course it's a bit dispiriting when you don't get a reply. I wondered what his best course of action is, to get his questions answered?

Get him to ring the office on 0844 415 4849 Bobbi.

I know the adaptions advisor Tracey Browne has been away for a couple of weeks on tour earning a crust but she's back in Madchester now so will be getting stuck into her emails.

Rick is probably the best to ask at the moment, the dispensation for trikes adapted for use by a disabled rider is still in effect so most of the information regarding that is still current. The forms and method will still be the same. I've done it twice myself and will be doing it again once my current project is finished so you could always give your mate my email addy, grumpygaz@gmail.com as I wrote the original piece. I'll be contacting all the relevant authorities about my build in the next few weeks just to check.

I might even do a re-write with the updated info.

I have spoke to Rick and it is as i thought. The dispensation for trikes built with adaptions for use by a disabled rider is still in effect.

I'll pin this post so it's at the top of the page

On the forum, yes. But I was thinking about people who may look at the main site but aren't into using forums. There are still people who think that forums are scary!
