 Post subject: reverse gear

hi im having a lot of trouble pushing my trike backward eg out of the shed so im thinking of getting a reverse gear fitted does any one know a place that fits reverse gears and how much do they cost the trike is a 2004 harley davidson sportster 883 with thanks paul

Think there's a few builders that do the reverse mechanism that fits in the harley gearbox.Trike shop being one,dont know how much one would cost thou Paul.

I don't think you'll get a reverse gear mechanism that fits IN a Sportster gear case. Not much room in there as it is.

Quaife do reverse transfer cases for Sportster trikes. Here's a link to their site, but I can't locate anything for H-D. It does exist because I've passed info on them before.

funnily enough, i thought quaife only did shaft drive reverse boxes!

if its just to lug the trike out of the garage - try a caravan mover.

if its for on the road - i think you will have to be savvy where you park.

I've got a marvelous piece of kit to push the trike - the Mrs. WEll its only fair, as I'm the only one who ever cleans her bike.

I don't know if the OP's trike is a shaft convert or uses the chain/belt to the rear or what. Anyway...

Here's the pic of the Sportster Trike with a Quaife reverse set installed. Sorry it's not that great of a pic or there aren't more from diferent angles.

hi i had ours done at panther trikes they got a web site , ring haylay and joe there they help you .
