Hi to all I'm a newbie. A little bit of info - I ride an st1100, have limited mobility following a bike accident in 1993 and I play and enjoy sit down volleyball when my health allows me to. I have a few questions but I will search the forum for answers. However, if someone would be kind enough to direct me should they be able to advise on how to carry crutches on motorbike tour. I am intending to go to France in late May but I would prefer to take crutches rather than 2 collapsible sticks.
Thank you
Shane

Hi Shane and welcome. I have known someone to use a rifle holster/scabbard. Looked pretty cool but it might depend on your taste for the bike. I used to play sitting volleyball as well, where abouts are you?

Something similar to this, could be mounted on front forks too

Thank you for your replies.

I am in Lincoln and play sitting down volleyball with the Lincoln team, I have played a few tournaments but I am really a novice compared to the rest of the team.

The idea of a rifle scabbard is pretty cool. Did you make yours, buy it or did you have a cobbler stitch it for you? I imagine a normal sewing machine wouldn't stitch it not that I know one end from the other, I just know my wife wouldn't be happy if I bust her precious sewing machine but then again I wouldn't be happy if she bust my bike.

Thanks for the ideas but Delboy I would like to know how you come about your holder for crutches.

Shane

I think it's Vic Hawkes bike and he had the holster made.

Big Vern on here I think.

Hi

Yes I played on the Grand Prix 2013 really enjoyed it but to be honest I didn't really deserve a team place like I said I am really a novice. YOU may know some of my team mates or certainly some of the teams. My coach is a guy called Skinns a single amputee and another guy called Keith Hills. Some of the teams I remember were London Linx, Battleback. I don't know if any of this means anything to you?

Cheers

Shane

Yes, I know the teams. I originally played a good few years ago. I trained with the GB squad prior to the paralympics in London. Shame we dont live closer - always enjoy training. Not as much as beer mind.

So, if you need a ringer, I play for beer.
